UAE condemns Israeli settler attacks in occupied West Bank

WAM

The UAE has strongly condemned attacks by Israeli settlers on villages in the occupied West Bank, calling on the Israeli government to hold those responsible accountable.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned against continued settler violence and urged Israeli authorities to condemn the attacks and protect civilians in line with international law. The ministry also called on the international community to help prevent further escalation and renewed its support for efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

The statement follows a weekend of escalating violence in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli settlers attacked several Palestinian villages, setting fire to two mosques and other property after a deadly confrontation near the village of Tal.
