The federal cabinet has approved the agenda for the UAE Government's annual meetings that are scheduled to take place on November 7.
New policies related to the housing sector and an agreement on air services with Iran were also approved during the latest cabinet meeting, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The housing policies are aimed at providing more flexibility for citizens while transferring, reselling or mortgaging their government-owned residences.
The cabinet also ratified an agreement with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Co-operation Council regarding hosting the Gulf Academy for Security and Strategic Studies, which will be based in the UAE.
Other announcements include the appointment of Thani Al Zeyoudi as the chairman of the board of directors of the Emirates Drug Establisment and Dr. Maha Barakat as its vice chairman.
The new entity is responsible for regulating and licensing medical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, cosmetics, veterinary products and bioproducts.
It will also manage a national system for tracking and monitoring medical products from factory to consumer.
