UAE air defences is currently responding to "incoming missile and drone threats", according to alerts from Ministry of Defence and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA).
The alerts, issued around 7.05 pm, requested the public to remain in a safe location and follow official channels for warnings and updates.

The ministry confirmed the sounds heard were the result of interceptions by their air defence systems.
