The UAE is now home to two of the top-50 universities in Asia.
Khalifa University has risen four spots to number 28 in the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2019, while UAE University has jumped from 71st to 49th place.
Meanwhile, American University of Sharjah and Sharjah University are ranked among the best 250 institutions across the region.
China, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea dominate the top-10 list.
