Authorities have confirmed that smoke visible in the Al Jaddaf area on Sunday was caused by a docked boat catching fire in Dubai Creek.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The density of the smoke was also understood to be due to the burning of fiberglass materials used in the boat’s construction.
Dubai Civil Defence teams successfully extinguished the fire within 54 minutes, with cooling operations following.
Authorities have urged the public to obtain information from official sources and refrain from circulating rumors or inaccurate information.
