A permanent residency scheme called ‘Golden Card’ has been announced for expats in the UAE.
It will benefit investors and exceptional talents in the fields of medicine, engineering, science and arts.
The first batch of beneficiaries will include 6,800 individuals with total investments of AED 100 billion.
It follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
"The Gold Card will be awarded to distinguished individuals, exceptional talents and anyone who contributes positively to the success story of the UAE," Sheikh Mohammed wrote on Twitter.
