Sharjah declares 4-day Islamic New Year holiday

Sharjah has declared a four day holiday for public sector workers on the occasion of Hijri New Year, according to a statement by the Sharjah Government's Department of Human Resources.

The holiday for government employees will begin on Thursday, July 20, with work resuming on Monday, July 24.

Sharjah moved to a four day working week in January 2022.
