All rental property eviction cases currently underway have been put on hold in Abu Dhabi.
That’s according to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who directed the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department to carry out the decision.
Sheikh Mohamed also told the judicial department to halt all executive procedures involving imprisonment, blocking of bank accounts, vehicle seizures, stocks and assets for the coming two months.
The move comes as part of the UAE government’s efforts to support residents during the current situation affected by COVID-19.
However, the recent announcement will exempt cases related to alimony and labour disputes.
