Parents across Dubai are voicing their concerns over a new vaccination campaign to prevent measles. Schools in the emirate have sent letters to parents, saying all students will be offered the measles jab, regardless of any previous vaccinations they’ve had in the past. The letters suggest parents will have to give health reasons for why they want their children to opt out. But the situation is confused. Not all schools have sent letters, and only some suggest the injection will be mandatory. This initiative started with the World Health Organisation, and its intention is to protect children from measles.
