H.H. Sheikh Mohammed attends UAE's first virtual mass wedding

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, has addressed the UAE's first online wedding for 100 couples.

His Highness congratulated the newlyweds and praised the ceremony's simplistic approach in light of the precautionary measures to combat COVID-19.

The couples were from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah.

The mass wedding was organised by the Ministry of Community Development and held in five locations across the country in strict accordance with the pandemic protocols.

Hessa Essa Buhumaid, the Minister of Community Development, said, "This virtual mass wedding, which gathers together UAE young generations in five different festive sites all over the UE, reflects the meanings of unity, cohesion, coherence and happiness, and embodies an extended joy for UAE nationals."

The Ministry of Community Development aims to establish the culture of mass weddings to help young people financially, and enable them to establish a balanced family status.
