UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah El Sisi have reiterated the need to intensify efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during talks in Abu Dhabi.

The leaders also underscored that regional stability can only be attained through the two-state solution.

The discussions took place in Qasr Al Shati during El Sisi’s fraternal visit to the UAE.

After exchanging Eid greetings, the talks focused on strengthening fraternal ties between the two countries and on further enhancing cooperation across various sectors of mutual interest, national news agency Wam reported on Wednesday.

Both sides also reaffirmed their shared commitment to continued consultation and coordination on matters that serve the interests of both nations.

Following the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed hosted a luncheon in honour of the Egyptian leader.

In the evening, Sheikh Mohamed, along with a number of Sheikhs and senior officials, bid farewell to El Sisi at the Presidential airport.
