Dubai Airports (DXB) CEO Paul Griffiths says misinformation circulating on social media of the airport being flooded is "not the case" and the airport is 100 per cent operational.

Speaking to Dubai Eye 103.8’s Business Breakfast on Friday morning, Griffiths said all efforts are focussed on returning to normal schedule, as he provided an update on the current airport operations.

Access around DXB is now unrestricted via the Dubai Metro, and all roads leading to the terminals are accessible. Despite the recent challenges, including an unprecedented number of cancellations totalling around 1,200 flights in the past few days, Griffiths reported a steady improvement in departures.

He urged travellers to check with their airlines regarding specific flights and advises them to arrive no more than two hours before their scheduled departure. This aims to minimise crowding and streamline passenger flow through the airport.

Food and refreshment supplies have continued to arrive in significant numbers, with 3,000 food packs and 45,000 bottles of water being distributed to those in the airport.

Griffiths confirmed that all concessions at DXB have been fully operational over the last four days, with supply chains functioning smoothly to ensure that airport services remain uninterrupted.

The focus remains firmly on assisting customers delayed by the recent situation and ensuring they reach their final destinations. As part of the recovery strategy, DXB limited inbound flights until 4:00 am on Friday.
