Smart helmets are now being used at Dubai Silicon Oasis for carrying out rapid temperature checks.
The KC N901 helmets will help security staff conduct contactless screening of individuals and groups in indoor as well as outdoor settings.
They feature Augmented Reality (AR) display technology, providing a large field of view at a high resolution with minimal blind spots.
"The coronavirus pandemic, forcing populations around the world to self-quarantine and cities to go into strict lockdown, paved the way for numerous innovations. DSOA is keen on exploring these innovations and providing the testbed needed to pilot them," said Engineer Muammar Al Katheeri, Executive Vice President of Engineering and Smart City at Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA).
The freezone has already developed an in-house disinfection tunnel, while recently it announced the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to ensure people's compliance with COVID-19 precautionary measures.
