Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has successfully concluded its annual Ramadan awareness campaign, highlighting the values of the Holy Month, which is against all forms of waste.

DEWA's MD and CEO, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, noted the increased interest in conservation of electricity and water and the preservation of natural resources.

During the campaign, DEWA organised 21 virtual and in-person awareness lectures, with the participation of 4,567 people, to encourage sustainable lifestyles and the reduction of carbon footprints.

The campaign targeted senior citizens, people of determination, Quran recitation centres, participants of the Ramadan Aman campaign, sports clubs, orphanages and new Muslims.

DEWA held several activities, competitions, and internal lectures in Arabic and English to raise awareness of Islamic principles which are based on strengthening the bonds of compassion and benevolence.

It also launched an internal campaign in conjunction with Zayed Humanitarian Day, recognising the rich legacy of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

DEWA dedicated a special section on its internal website (Freejna), to introduce the spirit of the Holy Month with its authentic Islamic and Arab values and principles. It also organised a Ramadan gathering to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity among its employees.
