The Dubai Press Club has launched the Arab Podcast Award, the first initiative of its kind in the region dedicated to recognising and promoting podcasters.
The announcement was made during the fourth edition of Dubai PodFest, held on September 30, to coincide with International Podcast Day. The event gathered over 100 prominent audio content creators and industry experts from around the globe.
Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, highlighted that the award reflects the evolving media landscape and the booming digital content industry.
She added that the new award will be integrated into the existing Arab Media Award, which covers broadcasting, digital, and print sectors, further establishing Dubai as a hub for innovation and creativity.
Details about the Arab Podcast Award, including categories, criteria and application processes, will be announced in the coming weeks.
Winners will be honoured at the next Arab Media Award ceremony in May.
