A budget of AED 6.4 billion has been approved for the Nafis scheme to empower Emirati talent and facilitate the entry of 36,000 citizens into the private sector workforce in 2024.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, approved the budget during the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council's board meeting.

He also reviewed efforts aimed at enhancing the participation of UAE nationals in the private sector.

Around 92,000 Emiratis are now employed in the private sector, with 41,800 joining in 2023.

Meanwhile, a total of AED 4.2 billion was paid to individuals who signed up to the Nafis programme, as of December 2023.
