Abu Dhabi's Department of Municipalities and Transport has launched a major upgrade of the E20 highway to improve traffic flow and meet growing transport demand.
The project will expand the road from three lanes to five, with 10.5 km of new ramps and loops, as well as four new bridges.
The works also include 1.5km of new internal roads, eight signalised junctions in Khalifa City and around Zayed International Airport.
Landscaping will be upgraded, alongside vital utility works, including 62 km of stormwater drainage networks, 37 km of irrigation networks, and the installation of 485 modern streetlamps.
