As many as 5,067 violations of COVID-19 precautionary measures were registered in Abu Dhabi over the past week.

A total of 4,210 fines were issued, including 72 for illegal gatherings, following intensive inspection campaigns.

Authorities also handed 786 warnings to commercial and food establishments, while 71 outlets were ordered to close for 14 days.

The closure orders were issued to 21 tailoring shops, 14 car garages and accessories shops, seven barber shops, seven restaurants and groceries, three mobile and electronic shops, two construction material outlets and 17 other commercial establishments.

The Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee reiterated that combatting COVID-19 is a shared responsibility.
