Oman have stunned Ireland with a two-wicket victory in their first game at the World Twenty20 in India. Chasing 155, the newcomers chased down their target with two balls to spare in Dharamsala. With 14 runs needed from the final over, Ireland’s Max Sorensen bowled two no-balls, one of which went for four and another which went for four byes to seal the victory. Oman’s Munis Ansari took 3-37 and opener Zeeshan Maqsood top scored with 38. Ireland now need to avoid defeat against Bangladesh on Friday to stay in the tournament, while Oman take on the Netherlands.
