West Indies register thrilling victory against Ireland

West Indies have sealed the three-match One-Day International series against Ireland with a thrilling one-wicket win in the second game at Bridgetown.

The hosts reached their victory target of 238 with just one ball remaining as Sheldon Cottrell (7 not out) blasted a six off the penultimate ball.

Nicholas Pooran top-scored for the Caribbean side with 52, while Hayden Walsh scored an unbeaten 46.

Ireland had earlier posted a modest 237-9 after winning the toss and opting to bat first.

Opener Paul Stirling was their top scorer with 63, while West Indies' pacer Alzarri Joseph took four wickets for the second game in a row.

West Indies now have a 2-0 lead in the three-game series after winning the opening match at the same ground on Tuesday by five wickets.
