The eight participating teams are arriving for the big event, where Dubai is set to host the first and final matches of the Cricket tournament.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings arrived in the UAE on Friday to begin quarantine.

All players have been tested for COVID-19 prior to departure, but they will now self-isolate for six days with further testing.

Once cleared, they will enter the tournament's bio-bubble where they will live, train and play for the duration of the tournament.

Speaking in a Royal Challengers Bangalore team video, AB de Villiers said, "I'm very excited, I'm very happy to be here, the travelling was a little bit different to normal but we made it here, with my South African friends."

Chris Morris was also excited to be here.

"It's been quite a while since we played the game that we love, so we're very chuffed and keen to get going but a little but nervous too, to be honest," said Morris.

Team-mate Dale Steyn was taken by the climate.

"It's going to be interesting to play in the heat," said Steyn. "We got here at three in the morning and it was steaming outside but looking forward to what it's going to be like in a couple of weeks."

The remaining two teams, the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals, are expected to touch down by Sunday.

The Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders were the first to arrive, on Thursday evening.

The tournament will be played from September 19 to November 10 in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
