England got their 2015 Rugby World Cup campaign off to a winning start last night. The hosts overcame Fiji 35-11 in the tournament’s curtain-raiser at Twickenham. The feet of George Ford (8) and Owen Farrell (7) provided 15 of England’s points, whilst two tries from Mike Brown and a late effort by Billy Vunipola, combined with a penalty try, also gave them what could prove to be a crucial bonus point. However, despite the wide margin of victory in the end, it was a nervy showing from Stuart Lancaster’s men, and could have been more so had Fiji converted all their goal attempts, the misses costing them 11 points. Next up for England are Wales next Saturday.
