Premier League roundup: City rout Newcastle as Chelsea’s woes go on

NULL

Manchester City have returned to the top of the EPL – for a few hours, at least – after Sergio Aguero scored five goals in 20 minutes as they came from behind to beat Newcastle 6-1. The visitors shocked the Eithad Stadium by taking the lead on 18 minutes through Aleksandar Mitrovic, and they had the ball in the net again shortly afterwards, only to be ruled offside. They seemed to be defending well, until Aguero finally broke through to level things just before half-time. Then, any of the defensive strength shown by Newcastle disappeared, with City scoring five goals inside 13 minutes. Kevin de Bruyne’s strike was sandwiched in between four for Aguero.
