The Miami Dolphins have sacked head coach Joe Philbin following a poor start to the season. After heavy investment in the off-season, the Dolphins’ minimum target was to make the play-offs, but they moved to 1-3 after their loss to the New York Jets at the weekend. It’s expected that defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle will also leave the franchise, after the highly touted unit slumped to 30th in the NFL’s defense rankings. Tight end coach Dan Campbell has been installed as interim head coach.
