Marcos Baghdatis has surpassed Bjorn Borg's long-standing record for the longest winning streak in Davis Cup singles. The 30-year-old Cypriot reached the landmark when he notched up his 34th victory in a row in a Europe Zone Group III event in Estonia. He cruised past Andorra’s Jean-Baptiste Poux-Gautier in straight sets in just 56 minutes to snatch Borg’s record. The Cypriot recently reached the final of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, where he narrowly lost to Stan Wawrinka.
