In Sunday's ninth game of the tournament Kings XI Punjab went up against Rajasthan Royals at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The Royals won the toss and sent Punjab in to bat first with Mayank Agarwal reaching his maiden IPL century before being caught out off a full toss.
Just missing out on the record for IPL's opening partnership total, Kings score of 223 for two wickets seemed a lofty target for Rajasthan.
The tension was high throughout the innings, and Royals ultimately rose to the occasion after a thrilling run chase.
They made 226 for six wickets, with three balls remaining.
Rajasthan's trusty wicketkeeper Sanju Samson earned player of the match with his knock of 85 from 42 deliveries.
The Royals move to second in the table, with Punjab just below them in third place.
