Cricket could feature in future Olympic Games after the International Cricket Council revealed they’re exploring the possibility. The ICC will meet with International Olympic Committee representatives next month. Chief Executive David Richardson told a news conference at the ICC headquarters in Dubai today they’ll gauge interest from both governing bodies about including cricket in the coming years. He added that the opportunity to make women's cricket an Olympic sport will be heavily discussed, as well as cricket in the Paralympics. Richardson said: "The plan is to meet them at this stage in mid-November, we are still trying to finalise a date but the invitation has come to meet." "Multisport federations like the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics have expressed an interest in cricket being part of those Games. "The Olympics is not as nearly advanced in their discussions with us in that regard (as the Commonwealths' proposal for cricket to partake in the 2022 event in Durban) but it's a case we just want to explore opportunities."
