Final ball controversy as Mumbai beat Bangalore

Mumbai Indians beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by five runs in a dramatic Indian Premier League clash that ended in controversial circumstances.

Bangalore needed six runs from the final delivery to tie Mumbai's 187, but fell short as Lasith Malinga bowled a dot-ball.

However, replays showed that he had overstepped, meaning that a no-ball and a free hit should have been given by the umpires.

Virat Kohli, the Royal Challengers captain, hit out at the officiating afterwards, describing the call as "ridiculous."

He was supported by his Indians counterpart Rohit Sharma, who said that such mistakes "are not good" for cricket.

Mumbai had earlier made 187-8 in their innings, with Sharma top-scoring with 48, while AB de Villiers led the Bangalore response with an unbeaten 70 from 41 deliveries.
