Dubai Basketball made a stunning debut in the EuroLeague on Tuesday night, defeating Serbian giants Partizan Mozzart Bet 89-76 in front of a roaring home crowd.
The Dubai side came out firing, as Davis Bertans led the charge from beyond the arc, helping his team to an early 8-point lead. By the end of the first quarter, they were firmly in control at 28 to 18.
Partizan fought back in the third, briefly taking the lead, but Dubai responded with grit and defence.
Mfiondu Kabengele stepped up with a dominant performance, supported by Dwayne Bacon and Džanan Musa, pushing the team to a 68–56 lead heading into the final quarter.
Dubai Basketball kept the momentum going, extending the gap to 20 points and sealing a historic win in their first-ever EuroLeague appearance.
"To win at home is very important; we have a very tough schedule, but for the confidence and the knowledge that we can play with everybody if we play together, this win means a lot," said Jurica Golemac, Head Coach of Dubai Basketball.
Next up, Dubai heads to Monaco for their second EuroLeague clash, before returning home for their ABA League opener on Monday, October 6 at the Coca-Cola Arena.
