Cricket: New Zealand thump Australia in first ODI

New Zealand eased to a comfortable win over Australia in their opening one-day-international. After losing the toss and being put in to bat first, the Black Caps recorded a score of 307 for 8 in their innings. Trent Boult and Matt Henry then tore into the Australia’s top order, reducing the tourists to 41 for 6, before eventually dismissing them for 148 inside 25 overs. The 159-run victory is New Zealand’s second-biggest over their rivals in ODI’s.
