Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 23 runs to register their first win of the new Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
Bangalore could only manage 193 for 9 in reply to Chennai's massive score of 216 for 4.
Invited to bat at Mumbai's DY Patil stadium, Shivam Dube (95 not out) and Robin Uthappa (88) put up a 165-run third-wicket partnership for CSK.
Shahbaz Ahmed (41) was Bangalore's top scorer while spinner Maheesh Theekshana (4/33) and skipper Ravindra Jadeja (3/39) were the pick of the CSK bowlers.
With this win, Chennai snapped their four match losing streak, while for Bangalore, it was their second defeat in five matches.
Mumbai Indians will face Punjab Kings on Wednesday.
