Tyson Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko to become the new world heavyweight champion. The Brit claimed a unanimous points win in Germany to take the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO belts. In a scrappy contest, Fury threw and landed more punches and switched stances throughout, as Klitschko struggled to find rhythm. The challenger was docked a point in the 11th round for hitting striking the back of the head, but it made little difference as the three judges scored the contest 115-112, 115-112, 116-111. It ends Klitschko’s 19-fight reign as champion and 11 year undefeated run, and moves Fury to an unblemished record of 25 wins (18 via knockout).
