Saudi Arabia will reopen its borders to fully vaccinated foreign tourists without having to quarantine from August 1.

Making the announcement, the Kingdom's Tourism Ministry said vaccinated tourists will have to provide a "negative COVID-19 PCR test (with a 72-hour validity) and a vaccination certificate".

It added that travellers must be inoculated with vaccines approved by the Kingdom, which includes Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.

They must also register on the "Tawakkalna" app, which will allow access to all public places.

The move comes after a 17-month closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
