Protesters were pictured using a metal trolley to try to storm Hong Kong's Legislative Council building on Monday, with police using pepper spray to disperse the crowd.
Security has been beefed up as authorities brace for more protests amid widespread anger over a controversial extradition bill, that would allow people to be sent to mainland China for trial.
Protestors are demanding for a complete withdrawal of the extradition bill, investigations into police violence and the resignation of City chief Carrie Lam.
