Donald Trump declared victory during an address to his supporters on Wednesday, after projections showed him winning three swing states.

The latest results showed the Republican with 267 of the 270 required electoral college votes, needing one more state to officially win. His Democratic contender was at 214 votes.

If officially declared, Trump would be the first ever convicted felon in the White House.

Mail-in votes are still being counted.

Trump is projected to win a third swing state, Pennsylvania, with 19 electoral votes, after gaining North Carolina and Georgia.

Trump is also taking the lead in the other five battleground states.

He is expected to win the popular vote, currently leading by around 200,000 votes.

Trump won North Carolina in 2016 and 2020, however, Biden won Georgia in the last election.

Trump is leading in Michigan and Wisconsin, where his two clearest paths to victory rely on Harris not winning enough of the outstanding votes in Wayne and Milwaukee counties.

In his speech, Trump said, "We made history for a reason tonight…we overcame obstacles…and achieved the most incredible political thing.”

He added, "This is a magnificent victory for the American people that will allow us to make America great again.”

The potential 47th US President made a point to address "sealing the border," and increasing immigration by legal means.

A major point of contention in the latest US election was the multiple ongoing conflicts around the globe, most notably in Ukraine and Gaza.

Donald Trump said, "I'm not gonna start a war, I'm gonna stop wars.”

He added we have to put America "first for at least a period of time."

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris said she will not be addressing the public on Wednesday, prompting her supporters to flock to the exits of her campaign's headquarters.
