The timeline has been announced for the Delhi state assembly elections in India.

Voting will be held on February 8 and counting will take place on February 11, with results expected the same day.

January 21 is the last date for filing nominations.

Over 13,000 polling stations will be set up and nearly 90,000 officials will be deployed to ensure smooth proceedings.

The term of the 70-member Delhi Assembly ends on February 22 and a new government must be in place before that date.
