Grammy-winning American singer Lil Nas X was arrested early on Thursday after charging at law enforcement officers, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said.
The reported assault occurred after the Old Town Road rapper was spotted walking in his underwear in Studio City, California, the spokesperson said.
Lil Nas X was taken to the hospital for treatment for a possible overdose, the spokesperson added.
Police records showed the rapper was arrested at 6:10 am and was being held in jail in Van Nuys, California, on Thursday afternoon.
Lil Nas X, whose given name is Montero Lamar Hill, received two Grammys for his hit Old Town Road, alongside the Country Music Association award.
