Gordon Ramsay says he's "lucky to be here" after a horror cycling accident. The TV chef posted a video on social media showing a badly bruised torso, which required hospital treatment, and he strongly urged people to wear a bicycle helmet.
Ramsay said the accident has left him shaken and said he's in pain. He added, "I'm doing ok and did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato."
The Kitchen Nightmares star said wearing a helmet is vital for all cyclists no matter how long the journey is.
On Instagram the Scot shared photos of his helmet following the crash.
The 57-year-old thanked the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital's trauma surgeons and nurses in Connecticut that looked after him.
