Duchess Kate launches photo project to capture lockdown Britain

Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, has launched a photography project aimed at capturing the life of British citizens during the six-week coronavirus lockdown.

Titled the Hold Still project, it aims to capture the “resilience, bravery, (and) kindness” of the people.

"We've all been struck by some of the incredible images we've seen which have given us an insight into the experiences and stories of people across the country," she said in a statement.

"Some desperately sad images showing the human tragedy of this pandemic and other uplifting pictures showing people coming together to support those more vulnerable."

Run by London's National Portrait Gallery, it is open to all British nationals, with 100 pictures shortlisted to feature in a digital exhibition.
