British comedian Michael McIntyre is returning to the UAE for his first gig in Abu Dhabi on Friday, July 16.
GME Events, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, and Yas Island, are staging his “greatest hits” show at the Etihad Arena.
McIntyre's most recent ‘Big World Tour’ saw him play 250 sold-out performances across 20 countries.
The writer and television presenter's Netflix special was one of the platform's most-watched comedy shows last year.
"I can’t wait to perform my Greatest Hits show at the Etihad Arena," McIntyre said, adding, "This will be my first time in Abu Dhabi and I am excited to be the first performer announced to play this venue!"
Precautionary measures are in place to ensure the health and safety of visitors to Yas Island and all ticket holders must have a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of the show date.
