The UAE is set to boost the tourism economy with a special focus on the domestic sector over the next three months, announced Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, as the industry bounces back stronger.
In an exclusive interview with Dubai Eye's 103.8 The Business Breakfast show, Al Marri said loyalty programmes, reduced prices and more are expected to support citizens and residents in the UAE.
He added that two major initiatives - 'VisitUAE' and 'UAE Grand Tour' - have been at the forefront of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which kicked off on Monday.
Speaking on the impact of the regional conflict on the sector, he noted that tourism is bouncing back stronger, with the support of government relief packages and initiatives.
Commenting on Dubai's volume of visitors during August, which reached its highest since February, with 869,000 international overnight visitors, Al Marri said the UAE's tourism sector is ready to recover.
