Internaut Day: 25 years since the World Wide Web went public

It's been 25 years since the World Wide Web was introduced to the world. WWW, as it is known, was designed by British computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee at the CERN laboratory in Switzerland in 1989. Over the next two years, he worked to simplify the system, leading up to the first web page being published online on Aug 6, 1991. This revolutionary functionality was made available globally on Aug 23, 1991- a day celebrated as Internaut Day. It marks the first time the complex system of the internet was accessible to the general public
