Facebook is set to hire 500 more workers in the UK for its new headquarters in London, increasing its British workforce by 50 per cent. When the new office opens in 2017, the social media company plans to up its headcount from 1,000 to 1,500. The company's new office in Fitzrovia is estimated to be large enough to hold 2,000 employees, suggesting further hires. Nicola Mendelsohn, Facebook’s European head, said many of the jobs would be highly skilled roles. Earlier this week, Google announced plans to build a new headquarters in King’s Cross, creating 3,000 jobs.
