Emirates passengers allowed more time to rebook tickets at no extra fee

Passengers flying Emirates have been given more flexibility to change their travel plans as the Dubai carrier revised its booking policy to accommodate uncertainties linked to the pandemic.

It will now allow those with tickets issued before September 30, 2020, for travel before December 31, 2021, to rebook for travel any time within 36 months. That's an extension of 12 months from the previous policy.

Meanwhile, those holding tickets issued after October 1, 2020, for travel before December 31, 2021 can rebook for travel any time within 24 months.

The airline said no fees will be charged for rebooking and vouchers or unused portions of Emirates tickets may be refunded without penalty.

Passengers who've booked directly through the airline can get the tickets extended automatically, while those who've purchased via a travel agent must contact them before the expiry of the tickets.

That's not all.

The airline has also extended the global multi-risk travel insurance cover for all passengers beyond March 31, 2021.

In addition, the validity of any Skywards Miles due to expire in April 2020 has been further extended until August 31, 2021, providing Skywards members with more opportunities to utilise them for an extensive range of flight and partner rewards as well as other privileges.
