Dubai International (DXB) is set to break traffic records in 2024, following impressive growth in the first nine months of the year.

By the end of September, the airport had welcomed 68.6 million passengers, setting the stage for a high-traffic final quarter.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, highlighted the airport's continued growth and commitment to service excellence, with a focus on technological advancements and customer experience. Notably, DXB is seeing an increasing share of direct traffic, reflecting Dubai’s rise as a global hub for tourism, business, and expat living.

In Q3, DXB handled 23.7 million guests, up 6.3% year-on-year, bringing the total flight movements for the first nine months to 327,700. The airport continues to maintain seamless operations, thanks to advanced technologies like biometrics and real-time tracking systems.

India remained the top destination market, followed by Saudi Arabia, the UK, Pakistan, and the USA. Key city destinations included London, Riyadh, Mumbai, and Jeddah.

Looking ahead, DXB expects 23.2 million guests in the final quarter, driven by the UAE’s vibrant winter calendar and major global events.

The airport’s forecast for 2024 annual traffic is 91.9 million, the highest in its history, reaffirming its position as the world’s busiest international airport for the tenth consecutive year.

As Dubai continues to grow as a premier global destination, DXB remains focused on delivering exceptional experiences, setting the foundation for continued success in 2025 and beyond.
