Globally, scheduled passenger flights will not resume before mid-June or early July.

Those are the words of Jamal Al Hai, Deputy CEO of Dubai Airports, who said that the UAE is still facilitating repatriation flights to some destinations amid airport closures worldwide.

Al Hai added that the UAE has helped about 37,000 people return to their home countries in coordination with their embassies.

He also clarified that Emirates Airline has increased the frequency of its cargo flights since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and that shipping operations have not stopped at Dubai Airports despite the circumstances.

He revealed that there are around 110 flights daily, operated by 12 companies, including Emirates Airlines and flydubai.
