The UAE has helped the Pakistani city of Lahore conduct it’s first cloud seeding flights, as it fights against air pollution.

Two planes equipped with cloud seeding equipment flew over 10 areas of the city around 10-12 days ago.

Taking to social media, caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi expressed his heartfelt thanks to the UAE government for their support.

He added that the planes used 48 flares to create the rain, in the first experiment of its kind in the South Asian country - and hopes to see results soon.

The city of Lahore is often ranked one of the worst places globally for air pollution.
