Authorities in Dubai are taking further steps to revive the tourism sector.

Officials from the emirate's General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has held talks with representatives of tourism companies to discuss the mechanism for granting tourist visas in the post-COVID-19 phase.

Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of the GDRFA said the department is working closely with all stakeholders to facilitate the entry of travellers, while ensuring compliance with the government’s precautionary measures as well as air travel protocols.

He added that he expects the tourism industry to emerge quickly from the crisis with the gradual removal of air travel restrictions and the resumption of activities in vital sectors across the country.

Al Marri also explained that the fundamental strengths of Dubai’s tourism sector will enable it to maintain its sustainability.
