A special elephant parade was held in Thailand to honour the millions of animals killed in Australia's raging bushfires.

Organised by the Ayutthaya Elephant and Royal Kraal tourist attraction, the mahouts were seen holding placards saying "Pray for Australia".

"The elephants are really sad what's happening to their cousins in Australia," said Michelle Reedy, an Australian volunteer at the camp.

So far, up to a billion animals have been killed or at risk in the raging Australian bushfires.
