Indian government sets up cow protection panel

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government has approved the formation of a national cow commission that will look into the conservation and protection of the animal.

Critics have accused the government of encouraging cow vigilantes who've been involved in several instances of mob lynching in the guise of protecting cows.
